Denver Newborn Session | Welcome Baby B
Round two with this crew was just so gooooood. I met this fam as they welcomed who you see featured here as big sister. I’ve included some of their initial session (that I adore OMG) at the end of the blog post - it’s THE best thing about being a Denver newborn photographer - witnessing the wild growth and the inevitable cuteness that unfolds as their personalities show themselves more fully. Welcome to the world, baby Bennett! You are so loved!!
OBSESSED with this crew. I HAD to share part of their initial newborn session with their first born baby girl Hadley. This session still lives on as one of my favs of all time! :)

I’ve mentioned the whole newborn session with dogs thing, right?? Haha. This was not setup, no treats were used. Sheer puppy interested in their baby action going on here. My heart exploded!
I mean…..are you even kidding me??!?! Again, these shots aren’t staged. There may be a bit of coaxing or snuggles involved but totally doggie directed Denver newborn session here in full effect. :) Cheers to this crew, sending all the love to newborn baby Hadley and her sweet fur siblings! What an honor to join this crew on their journey! All the love to you!

Isn’t this brand new Central Park Denver Mama totally glowing and radiant with her sweet baby boy? I loved her dress and it offered just the right vibe for their in home Denver lifestyle newborn session. The early days of welcoming a newborn baby can feel dreamy, tired, filled with an awe like love and oh so cozy. Conceptualizing getting out of the comfy gear and into a dress an ever-changing postpartum body can feel like a task and a half! I so honor all new moms that work hard to build visual legacies for their brand new babies. These Denver newborn photos are such a special gift to these newborn babes!
Ever wonder why newborn photos are done so early?
Newborn photos are notoriously said to be best in the first three weeks after the baby is born. A peek into the scientific side of things - babies are born with melatonin that has been passed from mom which decreases around the three week mark. You may know that melatonin is a hormone that helps regulate sleep, and it’s what makes newborns snoozy and sleepy. Scheduling Denver newborn sessions while your newborn still maintains higher levels of melatonin offers a tired babe for their Denver newborn photo session. If you’re looking for those sleepy Denver newborn photos - schedule them within the first three weeks after your baby is born, I’d suggest scheduling them before babe is born-one less thing to consider after baby arrives in your sleepy postpartum state. Reach out today to schedule your Denver in home studio lifestyle session!
Ever wonder about techniques to get some rest after having a Denver Newborn baby - I know my clients aim to look well rested for their Denver newborn lifestyle photo sessions.
First of all, congratulations on your new bundle of joy! Welcoming a baby into your life is a beautiful and transformative experience. However, it often comes with sleepless nights and fatigue. As a new parent, getting enough sleep can seem like an impossible dream, but fear not – there are strategies to help you catch some much-needed Zzzs. In this blog post, we'll share practical tips to help you get the sleep you need after having a baby.
1. Embrace the Power of Naps:
- Take advantage of your Denver baby's nap times to catch up on sleep. Even short power naps can make a significant difference in your energy levels.
- When your Denver newborn baby naps, consider lying down and closing your eyes, even if you can't sleep deeply. Rest is still beneficial.
2. Share Nighttime Duties:
- Team up with your partner to share nighttime responsibilities. Create a schedule that allows each of you to take turns getting uninterrupted sleep.
- If you're breastfeeding, pump and store milk so your partner can help with nighttime feedings.
3. Create a Relaxing Bedtime Routine:
- Establish a calming bedtime routine for both you and your Denver newborn baby. This can include dimming the lights, soothing music, and gentle rocking or cuddling.
- A consistent routine can signal to your body that it's time to wind down.
4. Prioritize Sleep Hygiene:
- Make your sleep environment as comfortable as possible. Invest in a good mattress, blackout curtains, and white noise machines to minimize disruptions.
- Keep the room at a comfortable temperature and consider using earplugs or an eye mask if necessary.
5. Seek Help and Support:
- Don't hesitate to ask for help from friends and family. They can assist with household chores or take care of the baby while you rest.
- Consider hiring a postpartum doula or a babysitter for occasional respite.
6. Practice Self-Care:
- Take care of yourself physically and mentally. Eat nutritious meals, stay hydrated, and engage in light exercise when you can.
- Consider mindfulness techniques, such as deep breathing or meditation, to reduce stress and anxiety.
7. Let Go of Perfection:
- Understand that it's okay if your house isn't perfectly tidy or if you're not able to accomplish everything on your to-do list. Focus on what truly matters – your baby's well-being and your own health.
8. Stay Flexible:
- Be prepared for unpredictable sleep patterns during the early months. Babies' sleep habits change frequently, so adapt your routine as needed.
- Take advantage of opportunities to rest during the day to make up for nighttime interruptions.
Adjusting to parenthood can be challenging, especially when it comes to getting enough sleep. Remember that you're not alone, and seeking support from loved ones and professionals can make a world of difference. By implementing these sleep solutions and being patient with yourself, you'll find ways to sneak in some much-needed rest and ensure you're well-equipped to care for your precious little one. Sweet dreams!
Andy’s New Parents Photo Session | Essential Tips for New Parents
Thrlled to join these brand new parents in welcoming their sweet baby boy Andy last month. Check out 10 essential tips for new parents listed below. :)
Top 10 Essential Tips for New Parents
Becoming a parent to a Denver newborn is one of life's most significant and rewarding journeys. From sleepless nights to navigating the world of baby care, being a parent to a Denver newborn baby can be overwhelming. Here are a few considerations along your journey - from a Denver Newborn Photographer.
Prioritize Self-Care
Parenthood requires energy and patience. Make sure to take care of yourself physically and mentally. Rest when you can, eat well, and don't hesitate to seek support if needed.
Embrace the Power of Routine
Babies thrive on routines. Establishing a predictable schedule for feeding, napping, and bedtime can provide comfort and consistency for both you and your baby.
Accept Help and Support
Don't be afraid to accept assistance from friends and family. Whether it's a homemade meal, help with chores, or babysitting for a few hours, every bit of support counts.
Communicate with Your Partner
Maintain open and honest communication with your partner. Discuss roles and responsibilities to ensure you're on the same page when it comes to caring for your baby.
Sleep When Your Baby Sleeps
Newborns have erratic sleep patterns. Take advantage of your baby's naptimes to catch up on your own sleep. A well-rested parent is better equipped to care for a newborn.
Connect with Other Parents
Join local parenting groups or online communities. Sharing experiences and advice with other parents can be a source of comfort and valuable insights.
Learn About Baby Care
Educate yourself about newborn care, including feeding, diapering, and soothing techniques. Knowledge can boost your confidence as a parent.
Trust Your Mama Instincts:
Parenting doesn't come with a one-size-fits-all manual. Trust your instincts and adapt to your baby's unique needs. You know your child best.
Baby-Proof Your Home:
As your baby grows, ensure your home is safe by baby-proofing. Secure sharp objects, cover electrical outlets, and use safety gates where needed.
Capture Precious Moments:
That’s where I come in! Time flies, and babies change SO quickly. Capture the special moments with your little one through photos. These memories will be cherished for years to come.
Parenthood is an incredible journey filled with love and joy, but it can also be challenging. Remember that you're not alone in this adventure, and seeking help and support when needed is a sign of strength, not weakness. By prioritizing self-care, establishing routines, and connecting with others, you can navigate the challenges of parenthood with confidence. Cherish every moment with your new baby, as they grow up faster than you can imagine. Welcome to the wonderful world of parenting!

Lifestyle newborn photography is all about connection. A brand new boy mom holding her baby and admiring his miraculous adorable brand newborn sweetness. Dad snuggles in close for a kiss. Brand new proud parents and a big brother or sister fur baby pup gazing at this new wonder that they created.
Sessions in your home aren’t working toward posing baby in any crazy poses or using props, as such babes don’t need to be sleeping. Open eye shots are some of my Denver Newborn Photography clients favorite photos.
If a few weeks pass by and you find yourself snuggled at home with a new baby, you can absolutely still schedule Denver newborn photos! The first few weeks offer that super sleepy vibe AND Denver lifesytle portratis are still possible in your home or in studio!
