The beauty of lifestyle newborn portraits -they dont have to be shot in the first two weeks. Perhaps in an ideal world (is there really such a thing?) Denver newborn sessions are shot priot to baby’s two week birthday. Often, at three weeks, baby acne appears and babe starts to change SO much! I encourage you to book your session at the time that feels right for you whether that happens in the first two weeks or the first two months. You won’t regret documenting your Denver Newborn baby’s sweetness!

11 Months is the Ideal Time for a Baby's First-Year Cake Smash Photoshoot

As a Denver cake smash and baby photographer, these sessions are some of my favorites!!!!

This sweet tradition involves your almost one year old babe diving into a cake or sometimes just playing in the frosting! I love these candid and hilarious moments.

Through my years of experience, I've found that scheduling the cake smash around the baby's 11th month is a HUGE advantage. Hear me out…Less mobility = more patience.

As babies grow (so fast!) and their mobility increases, they are MUCH less interested in being held or staying still and around 11 months. They’ve just learned to walk, be mobile, indulge their curiosities about the world and explore but haven't fully mastered the art of walking or running. As a Denver Cake Smash photographer,cake-smash-milk-bath this translates into more flexibility, better photos and a less exhausted mom t the end of your session!

Sweet little nuggets at this age are more likely to hang in one spot for longer periods which offers a wider range of expressions and interactions. Their patience (I type that word with a smile) will offer more variety in images in your gallery for selection.

Mom brought the cute floral rings and cake stand with cake and flowers! She mentioned she got the cake at Cake Crumbs in Park Hill and expected it to be bigger. :) I always recommend measuring but honestly think this size cake was perfect for her Denver Studio Cake Smash!
